Who we are

TrendsRadar is run by Sultan Kadyrkesh, a sole proprietor based in Kazakhstan (Astana, Abay Street 1), the data controller for the information described here. For anything about your data, email hello@trendsradar.dev.

What we collect about you

  • Account: your email and name, plus your avatar if you sign in with Google. A password is stored only as a hash.
  • Security: your IP address and browser for each session, and a sign-in cookie.
  • Sign-up answers: the platforms you care about, your niche and your role, which you give us during onboarding.
  • Billing: your plan, its dates, and the customer and subscription IDs from Polar. Your card details go to Polar and never reach us.
  • Credits: a record of each credit spent, with a one-way hash of the lookup that does not contain what you searched for.
  • Connected assistants: which AI assistants you connected, and when.
  • Support and email: the subject lines of emails we send you, your messages to us, and whether you opted out of marketing email.

What you look up

When you ask an AI assistant to use TrendsRadar, we receive the request it sends: a topic, a public handle or a link to a video. We do not receive your conversation, and we do not use your data to train AI models.

We send that request to our data provider, without your identity, and keep a log of the calls we make to it for 90 days: what was asked, whether it worked and what it cost. That log does not say who asked. Answers are kept in a shared cache that does not say who asked either.

Your assistant’s provider, such as OpenAI or Anthropic, handles your conversation and what our tools return to it under its own privacy policy.

Information about creators

TrendsRadar returns public information about public videos: a link, the caption, the creator’s public handle, view and engagement counts, the date, the name of the sound and, when you ask for it, the transcript. It comes from a third-party data provider, not from the platforms. We rely on our legitimate interest in offering research on public content.

We keep this for a limited time only: searches and account lookups for 6 hours, popular feeds for up to 48 hours, transcripts for 30 days, and expired entries are deleted daily. We do not store video or audio, and we do not keep the provider’s raw answers, which contain more than we show.

If you are a creator and want your handle or a video left out of our results, email hello@trendsradar.dev with the link and we will do it.

Why we use your data

To run the service, as our contract with you. To keep it secure and prevent abuse, and to understand how it is used so we can improve it, as our legitimate interests. To handle billing and meet tax rules, as a legal obligation. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we make no automated decisions about you with a legal or similarly significant effect.

Who receives your data

Each provider receives only what it needs for its job:

  • DigitalOcean hosts the application and the database, in the United States.
  • Polar processes payments as our merchant of record.
  • ScrapeCreators supplies the video data. It receives your topic, handle or link, not your identity.
  • Resend delivers the emails we send you.
  • Google handles Google sign-in, if you choose it.
  • PostHog provides product analytics, described below.
  • Sentry receives error reports: what failed and where. Request bodies and cookies are left out.
  • Telegram carries our internal alerts about sign-ins, sign-ups and payments, which include your email address.
  • Doppler stores our application secrets.

Analytics

PostHog (PostHog Inc., United States) records the pages you view on this site, before you sign in as well, and a small set of product events: your sign-up answers and whether you reached checkout. If you are signed in we also send it your user ID and email address, so that activity can be tied to your account.

When you use TrendsRadar from an AI assistant, PostHog records which tool was called, whether it worked and how long it took. It does not receive what you searched for or what came back: those are removed before anything is sent.

A browser tracker blocker will stop analytics. We do not currently act on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. To have your analytics records deleted, email us.

Cookies

We set a sign-in cookie and a small preference for light or dark mode. PostHog sets one analytics cookie to recognise a returning browser. It is not an advertising cookie, and we do not currently ask for consent before setting it. If the law where you are requires that consent, use a tracker blocker or decline cookies in your browser.

How long we keep it

Your account data stays for as long as you have an account. Sign-in sessions expire after 7 days. Billing records are kept as long as tax law requires. When you delete your account, all of this is erased at once, as described below.

Where it is processed

We are based in Kazakhstan. Your data is stored in the United States on DigitalOcean, and analytics is processed in the United States by PostHog. If you are in the EU or UK your data leaves that region, and where required we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

If you are in the EU or UK, you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, and you can object to how we use it, including the analytics above. You can also complain to your data-protection authority. If you are in California, we do not sell or share your personal information, and you can ask to know, delete or correct it. Email hello@trendsradar.dev to do any of these.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account yourself on your account page. See how to delete your account. It happens immediately: your account, sign-in details, assistant connections and credit history are erased, and any subscription is cancelled on the spot. Polar keeps the invoices tax law requires, with your name and email anonymised. Deleted data can linger in our database backups for up to 7 days. If you cannot sign in, email us and we will do it for you.

Security

Passwords are stored hashed. AI assistants connect through OAuth and never see your password, and you can disconnect any of them at any time, which ends their access at once.

Children

TrendsRadar is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date above.
